President, Hon Mwai Kibak officially launches Konza Technology City on January 23, 2013.

The Konza Technology Development Authority ( KOTDA ) board has been gazetted.
Market Sounding activities are still on-going where various potential investors have already been identified.
The technology city was one of the projects showcased in a New York Institutional investor conference. Other milestones achieved by this project are;

? Validation of Konza documents on going (Master plan, SEZA study reports).
? Market sounding activities carried out in Europe, Asia, Middle East and North America.
? Construction of Perimeter Fence complete.
? Construction of Site office completed.
? Konza power requirement included in the LCPDP.
? Site Office power connection in process.
? Ground Water Potential Mapping finalized.
? Preparations for drilling and equipping of Borehole, and Construction of Modern Sanitation Block on going.
?A 10 km buffer zone has been created around the city.


To realize the five-year goal of creating more than 20,000 direct BPO jobs and of increasing its contribution to GDP by Ksh10 billion.
