OBJECTIVE

To upgrade JKIA airport to conform to international standards and to enhance the value of our geographical location as a key regional and continental hub.

PROJECT COMPONENTS

  • 1. 2nd Runway
      STATUS:
      Not Started/Behind Schedule
      LOCATION:
      Nairobi County
      ANNUAL TARGET:
      Commence detailed engineering designs for 2nd runway.
      COMPONENT PROGRESS:
      Commencement of works is scheduled for January 2016 and expected to be completed in December 2017.
  • New Passenger Terminal
      STATUS:
      On Schedule/Ahead of Schedule
      LOCATION:
      Nairobi County
      COMPONENT PROGRESS:
      Terminal 4 building and Multi storey car park is approximately 80% complete.

      • Columns between ground floor and first floor at the arc part are 100% complete.
      • First floor beams and slab cast are 100% complete.
      • Second floor form work for beams and slabs have been placed and are 100% complete.
      • All columns between first and second floor cast are 100% complete.
      • This project will be completed by August 2013.
